From the get go it was Sure Curlin (Anthony Thomas) who was the sharpest away but he was quickly passed by True Bravado (Robert Halledeen) and Silver Hawk (Tevin Foster). Moonova was not the best away when the gates opened by quickly made up the stagger to be fifth.

Turning for home True Bravado held the advantage with Sure Curlin close enough to challenge. Then in the final furlong Dawkins got Moonova going and the American filly found her best to win by 1 ½ lengths.

True Bravado was second and I Am Fred (Phillip Parchment) following a terrible start ran on strongly for third.
