Sensational Gold, a winner with blinkers, Lasix in Caymanas Saturday eighth

KINGSTON, Jamaica – After trainer Randolph Scott decided to put the blinkers on and first time Lasix was administered, his charge Sensational Gold produced a run of true grit and determination to win the Caymanas Saturday eighth.

The Caymanas Saturday eighth was a one-mile call for three-year-old maiden.

The race lost one of its 11 starters when Sparklin Diamond bolted, and as the start button was pressed it was Sensational Gold (Oneil Mullings) and Buff Bay (Dane Nelson) who tussled for the advantage.

This tussle endured for the entire race with no quarter being given by either Mullings on Sensational Gold nor Nelson on Buff Bay.

In the straight try as Nelson and Buff Bay did, the resolute Sensational Gold was not for the taking.

The winner by 1 ¼ lengths was Sensational Gold, Buff Bay was second and Leo (Javaniel Patterson) third.

Sensational Gold won at odds of 7-1.
