KINGSTON, Jamaica – Lucky Nine with apprentice Matthew Bennett in the saddle made it a gate to wire run in the Caymanas Sunday third offering.

Racing at odds of 28-1, Lucky Nine trained by Ryan Darby was on the headlines with three other horses and then went on to enter the stretch for the final two furlongs about two to three lengths in front.

Although coming back a bit, Lucky Nine and Bennett had done enough to stave of the on rush of Cat’s Rigger who finished second and Regal Prospector, the third place finisher.
