KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Dane Dawkins' agent, Roger Hull, has confirmed that Dawkins is in good condition after falling during the 2023 Mouttet Mile at Caymanas Park on Saturday, December 2.

Dawkins fell from his horse, Atomica, when it stumbled during the one-mile event.

Hull assured that after undergoing checks, Dawkins was deemed unharmed and has since left the track for home.

Unfortunately for Dawkins, he experienced further disappointment when his win aboard Desert of Malibu in the Bruceontheloose Sprint Trophy was overturned by race day stewards, ultimately granting the victory to I've Got Magic.

As a result, Desert of Malibu was placed fourth.

  1. After last year's race I was not a fan of Dane, and I thought Wehby should have changed his jockey, Atomica deserves better. Watch the race with Desert of M,. How can you make the same mistake twice in the same race for a big jockey. I hope Wehby has learnt his lesson, the results could be worse.

  2. Dane Dawkins is a good rider. The way he rode Desert of Malibu was atrocious, however there has been many more worse infringements that have not had the same decision of the stewards. That horse won on merit. It was an overkill for 2 objections. This incident marred a good race day.

  3. Boy I don't know how the owners of that horse feel losing 1.4 million dollars because of this experience jockey folly these jockeys are so dependant on their whips it's not funny it's disgusting he should buy a very large big screen tv and watch how the top jockeys in the USA or england ride their horses

  4. The disqualification is justifiable to international standards but my problem is with the consistency of the STEWARDS.
They allow so much infringements that many times we see worst and no actions.
I have seen many worst than this one. JRC need to address this problem before life or limb is affected.
    Enuff said.
