CHARMIN’ BEAUTY OFF THE MARK

Charmin’0 Beauty, after an encouraging third-place finish over seven furlongs (1,400m) on June 4, returned to defeat rivals in a native-bred four-year-old and upwards Maiden Condition call over 5 ½ furlongs (1,100m).
Trained by Patrick Lynch and ridden by Raddesh Roman, Charmin’ Beauty (Lion Tamer – Charmin’ Diaz) raced prominently in second place behind Bubbly Girl (Jordan Barrett) after the gates opened.  Going into the half-mile (800m) turn, Charmin’ Beauty was joined by the rail-running Blue Seas (Natalie Berger) as they chased Bubbly Girl coming into the lane.
Charmin’ Beauty gained the lead a furlong out and carried his work to the wire in front of the fast-charging Nyla The Dancer (Daniel Satchell). Six Avenue (Roger Hewitt) also came on the scene late for third place. The final time was recorded at 1:10.1.

PRINCE DOMINICK — A WALKER AND WALKER VICTORY

Conditioner Edward Walker notched his first win this season after his charge Prince Dominick brushed aside rivals in an Optional Claiming ($250,000-$200,000) event for three-year-old and upwards horses at 7 ½ furlongs (1,500m).
It was a good break for Prince Dominick as jockey Omar Walker held the grey gelding just behind leader Sir Arjun Babu (Robert Halledeen) leaving the intersection at the seven-furlong (1,400m) point on the course. Prince Dominick then surged to the front at the six-furlong (1,200m) pole ahead of Sir Arjun Babu as both runners separated themselves from the rest of the field.
Turning for home, Walker pressed on the throttle and Prince Dominick responded by sprinting clear to win by 10 lengths in a time of 1:37.0. Second went to Sir Arjun Babu with Funky Fashion (Dane Dawkins) third.

HOT ICE MAKES ONE MOVE

Seven-year-old bay mare Hot Ice, running from the number one barrier, made one get up to win a three-year-old and upwards Optional Claiming ($400,000-$300,000) contest travelling nine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820).
Jockey Javaniel Patterson hustled the Fernando Geddes-trained Hot Ice (Film Director – Ice Crystal) to take up the running ahead of Vampire Rejection (Marshall Porter), Dezzy The Genius (Abigail Able), and Coralando (Dane Dawkins) going around the clubhouse turn and onto the main track.
Hot Ice maintained her rhythm down the backstretch with Vampire Rejection still chasing along with Dezzy The Genius in third place as the field moved towards the half-mile turn.
With a smooth gallop entering the straight, Hot Ice was put to work to come out the victor by three lengths. Subbie (Phillip Parchment) came running on to get second place ahead of Nala’s Bushman (Omar Walker). The final time was 2:03.0.

COMMISSIONER MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW

Trained by Gary Crawford and ridden by Tevin Foster, Commissioner romped to his second-consecutive success in an Optional ($250,000-$200,000) claiming contest going four furlongs.
Commissioner showed early dash at the start, disputing the lead with Father Riel (Roger Hewitt), Adwa (Youville Pinnock), and Chief of State (Andre’ Martin).
As the runners sorted themselves out and made their way across the dummy for the last two furlongs (400m), Commissioner took full control of proceedings and began to draw clear for an easy win.
Commissioner won by a length and a half ahead of Okahumpka (Christopher Mamdeen) and Adwa in a time of 48.3.
