KINGSTON, Jamaica – The second race on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Caymanas Park features a two-year-old maiden call over five furlongs straight.

This event has drawn only five starters. The Quick Galloper provides analysis below in draw order.

1 - ROSETTA, a roan filly (April 6) by Bold Conquest out of Khadiliah, is trained by Jason DaCosta with Jerome Innis as the jockey. Khadiliah has produced Storm Princess, Kalahari, Billy Whizz, Giant Wheeler, and Mr. Senator. Morning reports indicate that Rosetta has been developing well for her race day debut, frequently working with Himaya, also entered in this race. This filly deserves attention.

2 - MS CHERRY is a bay filly (March 13) by Sensational Slam out of Fiftyshadesofray, trained by Richard Azan with Dane Dawkins aboard. She is half-sister to Mojito and Rainsville. Considered the best of trainer Richard Azan's three entries in this race, MS Cherry is expected to be a strong contender.

3 - BUTTERCUP is a bay filly (February 2) by Conquest Cherimash out of Shahar, trained by Richard Azan with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Shahar has produced notable runners like Puddy Pooh, Little Thunder, Sheer Madness, Awesome Sauce, Sir Puddington, Gypsy Jam, and Thirtyonekisses. Despite needing more experience according to exercise reports, it is worth remembering that anything can happen in a race for inexperienced 'babies'.

4 - FRANCIS is a bay filly (March 13) by Savoy Stomp out of Jazzy Jet, trained by Richard Azan with Raddesh Roman aboard. Jazzy Jet's offspring include Money Magnet, Ackie Pie, Billiejo, and Josh. However, early morning risers suggest that Francis may not be fully prepared yet.

5 - HIMAYA is a roan filly (March 23) by Casual Trick out of Raksha, trained by Jason DaCosta with Phillip Parchment in the saddle. As the only entrant with prior race day experience, participating in two races for two-year-olds this season, Himaya has to be considered a favorite based on her preparation and past performance.
