KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Anthony Thomas and Splendid Vision changed the five straight script a bit when they emerged as winners from the one draw.
Splendid Vision was successful in a $450,000 – 4400,000 Optional Claimer.
Thomas in drawing close on the inside of tearaway leader Golden Destiny (Oshane Nugent) moved from the one draw in the field of 12, tacking across the track, and got the job done in the final 50 yards of the contest.
With a quick change of his whip from his left hand to the right, Thomas and Splendid Vision got the required momentum to secure the win.
Golden Destiny ran his heart out and just failed by three-parts-of-a-length.
Third went to Schlesinger with Chris Mamdeen aboard.
Splendid Vision was the first winner of the season for trainer Marlon Anderson.
