His first blemish came on December 27, 2025, when he was beaten by a short head at six furlongs by Prodigious Power.
Trainer Anthony Nunes then gave him a break, bringing him back on March 21, 2026 over five furlongs straight. That return proved testing, as Teflon Don edged him out by a length. Doubts began to surface among pundits, questioning whether Sir Don’s early brilliance had been overstated
Those doubts were swiftly answered. In the King’s Plate on March 29, an Overnight Allowance over 7½ furlongs, Sir Don returned to form with authority. That victory propelled him into Open Allowance company. On April 18, in the 6½ furlong Saint Cecelia Trophy, Sir Don produced what can be considered to be his most commanding performance yet. Partnered again by regular rider Raddesh Roman, he led from the break and never looked back, stopping the clock at 1:19.0 with splits of 23.2, 47.2, and 1:12.2. Against proven opposition, he looked every inch on the rise. .
Sir Don’s record now stands at five wins from seven starts, with earnings exceeding $4 million. His progression from precocious juvenile to developing three-year-old suggests a colt capable of handling both speed and stamina.
