KINGSTON, Jamaica – The three-year-olds have three races for themselves of the nine races being offered on the Labour Day (May 23) card at Caymanas Park. The first of these three races is the sixth, a maiden special weight going seven furlongs.
– Manaco is a chestnut colt (April 9) by Lion Tamer out of The Golden One, trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Still learning his craft.
– D Head Cornerstone is a bay colt (March 23) by Bern Identity out of Soul of the Heart trained by Gary Subratie with Allen Maragh in the saddle. D Head Cornerstone was hindered at the start of his debut race nine days ago. Then he finished third and gave the impression that he is of some worth, and with that run in his hoofs, D Head Cornerstone is poised to open his winning account.
– Howilookin is a bay colt (February 12) by Western Classic out of Gold Charm, trained by Anthony Nunes with Robert Halledeen in the saddle. If Howilookin leaves his starting stall in good order, then he will have every chance of getting off the mark.
– AKA Storm is a bay colt (April 23) by Storm Craft out of Kandi With A K, trained by Patrick Lynch with Youville Pinnock in the saddle. Still has much to learn.
– Rum Puncher is a chestnut gelding (February 28) by Soul Warrior out of Miss Angeline, trained by Richard Azan with Dane Dawkins in the saddle. Returned from a break on May 8 and was shut out by a head going 8 ½ furlongs. With that effort Rum Puncher should be fitter, making him a live threat, especially with his jockey yearning for a winner after just returning from injury. The distance is right for Rum Puncher.
– Cave Man is a bay gelding (March 12) by Dayton Flyer out of Burning Brightly, trained by Lorenzo Robinson with Roger Hewitt in the saddle. Cave Man is returning from a break of 148 days and can be safely discarded.
– I Realise is a bay gelding (March 28) by Northern Giant out of Regina Royale, trained by Al Brown with Anthony Thomas in the saddle. I Realise has finished second in his last two races, then when nominated to race on April 23 was declared a late non-starter – sick. Since then, I Realise has been on the exercise track and with Anthony Thomas in the irons, is ready for maiden take-off. Note, I Realise races with the tongue-tie on.
– Secret Emperor is a bay gelding (February 16) by Emperor Hall out of Secret Cat, trained by Carl Anderson with Andre Martin in the saddle. Can earn a place on the board. Note, Secret Emperor races with the figure 8 on.
– Salud is a bay filly (April 11) by Bridled Quest out of Lunar Explosion, trained by Ryan Darby with Paul Francis in the saddle. Did well on her debut nine days back after a bumpy start, now Salud returns with the benefit of that experience, and with improvement expected, he is going to have a loud say in the outcome.
– Jupiter Man is a bay colt (March 20) by Storm Craft out of Valley of Queens, trained by Edward Stanberry with Kiaman McGregor in the saddle. Note, Jupiter Man, races with the visor on and first-time Lasix.
– Print Quality is a bay gelding (March 5) by Casual Trick out of She Can Preach, trained by Patrick Lynch with Raddesh Roman in the saddle. Far from being ready. Note, Print Quality races with first-time Lasix.
– Don Vincenzo is a bay colt (May 27) by Savoy Stomp out of Exotic Selection, trained by Spencer Chung with Omar Walker in the saddle. Was expected to do better on debut nine days ago but finished way behind in seventh. Don Vincenzo has progressed at exercise but will have to show great improvement to win this one. Note, Don Vincenzo races with first-time Lasix.
