The day's program originally had a reasonable total of 77 runners, averaging a reasonable 7.7 starters per contest. However, by the time the gates opened for the tenth and final event, that overall tally had shrunk to 71, with six official late non-starters taking a bite out of the fields.

The departure of Summer Palace in the third reduced the original field of seven to six; while in the fourth, the two-year-old call, the absence of Yeet reduced the contest from six to five.
