KINGSTON, Jamaica – X Y Soul continued the early trend of upset winners on the 10-race card at Caymanas Park, today (Oct 3).
X Y Soul (Roger Hewitt) trained by Fitznahum Williams had to fight for the victory in a $550,000 - $500,000 Optional Claimer for three-year-olds and upwards run over six furlongs.
X Y Soul and Key Witness (Oshane Nugent) fought for supremacy in the straight with the latter gaining the ascendency but Hewitt kept on working and X Y Soul responded by moving forward to get the win by three lengths.
Key Witness was second with Luana (Matthew Bennett) taking the third slot.
