KINGSTON, Jamaica - The eighth event scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2024, is a maiden three-year-old call which has been named in honour of veterinarian Dr Trudi Gaynor-Stewart.

The distance of the race is 5 ½ furlongs, and nine horses have been entered to compete.

Starting with horse number one, OIL MACHINE is a chestnut colt born on January 28. Sired by Bern Identity and out of Keep The Faith, the horse is trained by Phillip Elliott, and Tevin Foster is listed as the jockey.

Oil Machine has been in the mix in all of his six starts to date, and he is expected to perform well once again in this race.

Moving on to horse number two, GALOPIN DE VELOZ is a chestnut colt born on February 18. Sired by Sensational Slam and out of Woman Is Boss, the horse is trained by Ian Parsard, and Josue Osorio will be the jockey. Galopin De Veloz races with blinkers, tongue tie, and the figure 8. He is a half-sibling to the accomplished She’s My Destiny, who is now at stud. Observers have noted that Galopin De Veloz has been making progress and have suggested that he is a horse to watch out for in this race.

Horse number three is THE SOUL WARRIOR, a grey colt born on March 21. Sired by Storm Craft and out of Amanda Panda, the horse is trained by Phillip Lee, and Carlos Blake is the designated rider. The Soul Warrior races with cheekpieces on and has eight starts under his belt. He has shown no signs of not being able to win.

Horse number four is BOLD MOVE, a bay colt born on April 5. Sired by Sunshine N Shadow and out of Money Move, the horse is trained by Gary Subratie, and Omar Walker is the jockey. Bold Move races with the tongue tie on and was just a head behind Global Machine in his first outing, which was 21 days ago. Having gained valuable experience, he is expected to perform even better in this race.

SMART TRICK is a bay colt born on February 1 and is horse number five. Sired by Casual Trick and out of Crafty Lady, the horse is trained by Anthony Nunes, and Reyan Lewis will be riding him. Smart Trick finished only three parts of a length behind Bold Move in his debut on April 6. He has shown his worth and is a horse to be taken seriously in this race.

Horse number six is BLOOD MOON, a chestnut gelding born on March 23. Sired by Midnight Hawk and out of Right Marker, the horse is trained by Al Brown, and Raddesh Roman is the jockey. Blood Moon races with the tongue tie and first-time Lasix. Right Marker has already produced Deal Marker, Dotlin, and North London. Reports from morning watchers suggest that Blood Moon has caught the interest of many. He has been developing well, and many believe he will put up a spirited effort. CALIFORNIA CROWN is a chestnut colt born on March 30 and is horse number seven. Sired by Hedge Fund and out of Dream Big, the horse is trained by Jason DaCosta, and Robert Halledeen is the jockey. California Crown races with the tongue tie and first-time Lasix. Dream Big has already produced Dejae’s Boy. California Crown has been performing well in training, and the word is that the connections of this newcomer are expecting a winning opening run.

LEGEND OF ZARRO is a bay colt born on April 10 and is horse number eight. Sired by Bern Identity and out of Ransomware, the horse is trained by Al Brown, and Oshane Nugent is the jockey. Legend of Zarro races with first-time Lasix and will learn from this first experience.

Finally, horse number nine is BANK CRAFT. He is a bay colt born on April 12, sired by Storm Craft and out of D’Angel. The horse is trained by Phillip Elliott, and Richard Lunan is the jockey. Bank Craft has not done much in his three starts to be in any sort of reckoning for this race.
