KINGSTON, Jamaica -  Traveller’s Lodge, after finishing a length second to Rani Bangala on February 18, returned and went one better in a Maiden Condition call for native-bred four-year-olds and upwards over 5½ furlongs (1,100m).

Trained by Christopher Pearson and ridden by Robert Halledeen, Traveller’s Lodge jumped straight for the lead at the start of the race and held the front end comfortably ahead of Salud (Christopher Mamdeen) and Wildfire (Anthony Thomas) going into the half-mile (800m) turn.

Traveller’s Lodge maintained her gallop well approaching the distance and responded well to the urgings from Halledeen as the bay filly picked up the tempo in deep stretch to win going away by 5 lengths. The Blue Pepsi Lodge – Sea Traveller offspring finished ahead of Salud and Wildfire in a time of 1:11.0 (23.3 x 48.3).
