KINGSTON, Jamaica – The mid-week programme at Caymanas Park is turning out as a day to remember for former jockey now trainer Patrick Lynch.
“Wacky” as he is popularly known just closed his triple with a maiden victory by imported filly She’s Irie with apprentice Daniel Satchell aboard. This was Satchell’s second winner on the day both for Lynch.
It was a well-timed ride by Satchell as after a bad start, he skillfully guided She’s Irie along the rails before getting closer to the leaders leaving the three-furlong marker.
In the straight, She’s Irie took over and was a lonely thoroughbred on the lead winning by four lengths.
Second was Latapy with third going to Yet Again. She’s Irie was the 8-5 favourite.
Salah who was expected to play a significant role in this race bolted and was declared a late non-starter.
The event was a Restricted Allowance 11 for three-year-olds – non winners of two and maiden foreigners. The distance of the race 7 ½ furlongs.
