STEWARDS OF THE RACING COMMISSION ISSUE FINES, SUSPENSIONS

KINGSTON, Jamaica - The following disciplinary actions were recently announced by the stewards of the regulatory arm of racing, the Jamaica Racing Commission.
- Jockey Raddesh Roman, who rode Sheboom in the 10th race on Saturday, April 9, 2022, was fined $8,000.00 for intimidation caused to Better Best and XY Soul approaching the 200-metre point.
- Trainer Ryan Williams ($20,000.00) for breaching Rule 200 of the Jamaica Racing Commission Racing Rules 1977 with regards to the horse Moon on Saturday, April 23, 2022.
- Jockey Ramon Nepare was severely cautioned for breaching Rule 200 of the Jamaica Racing Commission Racing Rules 1977 with regards to the horse Moon on Saturday, April 23, 2022.
- Jockey Christopher Mamdeen who rode:
 (1) Sir Frederick in the fifth race on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, had his explanation accepted for the laceration to the flank of the horse; and,
  (2) Dejae’s Boy in the 10th race on Wednesday, April 2, 2022, was suspended for two race days and fined $10,000.00 for intimidation and interference caused to Eagle One and God of Love in the vicinity of the 200-metre point.  The suspension will commence on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
- Jockey Aaron Chatrie, who rode Kunda Man in the third race on Monday, April 18, 2022, was suspended for six race days and fined $20,000.00 for interference caused to Conundrum leaving the 100-metre point. The suspension will commence on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

  1. The stewards have no respect for the betting public who support the sport and ensure that they have a job!! How can you fine and suspend the jockey and do not disqualify the on the day in question? This is vast inconsistency on their part and someone should be held accountable for such action whenever they occur.
