All roads now lead to Caymanas Park on Sunday, June 7, 2026, where the colts and geldings Classic, the 2000 Guineas, will be contested over one mile.
The build-up has been intense, with trial races offering glimpses of form and stamina, but the Guineas itself is the true proving ground.
Eleven three-year-olds are set to face the starter, each carrying hopes of connections and punters alike.
Below is the field, with profiles developed to highlight their credentials and prospects.
1) SALUTE THE DON
Chestnut colt (March 19) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Abicadabby
Trainer – Gary Subratie
Jockey – Raddesh Roman
This consistent colt has never finished worse than third in six career outings. In The Kingston over 7 ½ furlongs, he was expertly guided by Ian Spence to his preferred role at the front. Relaxed down the backstretch, he entered the straight still in command. Unlike previous efforts, Salute The Don refused to fold, battling gamely until caught in the final strides by stablemate Stardom. Though many analysts peg him as a sprinter, this performance suggests otherwise. His resilience and determination could prove decisive in the 2000 Guineas.
2) STRONG AVEENU
Chestnut colt (March 19) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Ruby Rose
Trainer – Patrick Lynch
Jockey – Wesley Henry
Equipment – Blinkers on
Arrives on the back of two consecutive victories, showing steady improvement. While his momentum is undeniable, the Guineas field represents a significant step up in class. Against seasoned rivals, his chances of winning are difficult, but his upward trajectory makes him a horse to respect.
3) EYE OF THE TIGER
Bay colt (May 30) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Full Moon’s Enough
Trainer – Jason DaCosta
Jockey – Robert Halledeen
Recently shed his maiden tag over 5 furlongs round on May 23. Eye Of The Tiger has shown flashes of potential and could deliver a strong performance here. His raw ability suggests he may surprise more established rivals if he continues to progress.
4) ROCKHAMPTON
Bay colt (April 19) by Wow Wow out of Nuclear Flight
Trainer – Anthony Nunes
Jockey – Omar Walker
A well-bred colt expected to relish the galloping course. While not considered a likely winner, Rockhampton is capable of producing a respectable effort, adding depth to the field.
5) FERNANDO
Chestnut colt (February 17) by Successful Native out of Dancing Queen Trainer – Anthony Nunes
Jockey – Reyan Lewis
Finished fifth in The Kingston, facing many of the same rivals again. With little evidence of improvement, Fernando’s chances of winning appear slim, though he may still play a role in shaping the pace.
6) BIGGER BOSS
Bay colt (January 27) by Bern Identity – Woman Is Boss
Trainer – Jason DaCosta
Jockey – Tevin Foster
Showed early speed in The Kingston but faded tamely. That effort was disappointing, yet his prior form suggests he is capable of better. A rebound performance could see him contend for minor honours.
7) SUPER DAVID
Bay colt (April 16) by Patton Proud – Storm Girl
Trainer – David Powell
Jockey – Phillip Parchment
Equipment – First time Lasix
Runner-up to Strong Aveenu in the Monday Morning Trophy over 7 furlongs. Developing at the right time, but against hardened Classic contenders, Super David faces a steep challenge.
8) SENOR BISCOTTI
Bay colt (February 6) by Savoy Stomp out of Baby P
Trainer – Richard Azan
Jockey – Tajay Suckoo
Produced a career-best in The Kingston, staying on strongly to finish five lengths behind Stardom. His improvement and experience make him a genuine factor in the Guineas picture. With nine starts under his belt, he combines durability with upward momentum.
9) MOHANLAL
Bay colt (April 7) by Casual Trick out of Raise Your Voice
Trainer – Richard Azan
Jockey – Bebeto Harvey
Equipment – Tongue tie on
An easy winner over the straight on May 10. Mohanlal is expected to relish the mile and could mount a brave bid. His stamina and recent form make him an intriguing outsider.
10) STARDOM
Bay colt (April 4) by Sensational Slam out of Trinket Box
Trainer – Gary Subratie
Jockey – Dane Dawkins
The Kingston winner, who surged late to defeat Salute The Don. Trainer Gary Subratie’s equipment change and jockey switch proved decisive. With only four starts, Stardom’s scope for improvement is vast. His pedigree and relish for longer trips mark him as a prime contender for the Guineas and beyond.
11) GOD’S PLAN
Chestnut colt (May 5) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Fearless Abi
Trainer – Gary Subratie
Jockey – Ian Spence
After lacklustre efforts in earlier trials, God’s Plan produced a career-best in The Kingston, finishing third behind Stardom. Prominent throughout, he showed grit and determination. If that run signals genuine progress, he could emerge as a serious challenger.
