KINGSTON, Jamaica – After promising much, US bred Sir Alton seems to be delivering at last.

In a Restricted Stakes event run over 5 ½ furlongs for the War Zone Trophy, Sir Alton ridden by Anthony Thomas and trained by Wayne DaCosta rallied in the last furlong to catch and beat known speedster She’s A Hit (Dick Cardenas) by 2 ½ lengths. Third went to Solid Approach.

This victory by Sir Alton came in the fourth Sunday race a short while ago at Caymanas Park.

On a track oozing speed after being re-graded last week Thursday, Sir Alton recorded a fast final time of 1:04.4 which is a new Stakes record for the event. The old record of 1:05.3 was set in 2016 by Simply The Best.

Sir Alton was the second winner from the first four races for both Thomas and DaCosta.

DaCosta was the trainer of War Zone.
