KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Anthony Nunes and apprentice Reyan Lewis are dominating the 11-race programme – the first day of racing on the Diamond Mile weekend.
The pair just completed their third win when Prince Charles in a much improved run took home Division One of the Supreme Ventures sponsored Diamond Sprint – a Restricted Stakes event for three-year-olds and upwards run over 6 ½ furlongs.
Lewis coming from the outside number 10 draw, brought Prince Charles close to the pace makers (Casual Drink, El Gringo and She’s An Introvert) and started his winning run in earnest in the straight. From then, although outsider Formal Fashion (Kiaman McGregor) made an effort in the final half-a-furlong it was all, Prince Charles.
Formal Fashion was second and Big Bang third.
The winning time was an excellent 1:18.4.
