Parajet starts Sunday card at 4-1, exacta with Captain Granville pays $11,726

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The speedy Parajet was able to keep a straight course in a four furlong claiming contest to register an easy win in the first of 10 races on the Sunday racing programme a short while ago at Caymanas Park.

Ridden by newly minted apprentice Oshane Nugent, Parajet trained by Steven Todd was just behind Laws of the Code (Odeen Edwards 2-1), but over the last furlong in this quick sprint, Parajet pulled away to win by 2 ½ lengths. Nugent was winning his second career race.

Captain Granville at 54-1 with Aaron Chatrie in the saddle finished second. The exacta with Parajet on top of Captain Granville paid $11,726.

Third went to Laws of the Code.

The winning time was recorded at 48.1.
