KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was expected and although the race had to be run, Mister Mandate duly delivered in the second of 11 races on the Saturday card currently underway at the Park.
Racing in a maiden two-year-old contest running over five furlongs round, Mister Mandate a chestnut colt by Strong Mandate – Moonlight Brew, ridden by Dick Cardenas and trained by champion Anthony Nunes, settled in third when the starter let them go.
After two furlongs, Mister Mandate got closer to then leader Awesome Choice (Omar Walker) and in the straight when asked to give his effort, the Nunes trainee responded well pulling away to win by 2 1 /2 lengths.
This was the second outing for Mister Mandate. He provided his conditioner with his 39th win of the season and it was the ninth for Cardenas since his return to local race riding a month ago.
The winning time was recorded at 1:01.3.
