The final race at Caymanas Park on Monday, April 6, 2026, ended in dramatic fashion when two jockeys, Shaheem Gordon and Aaron Chatrie, were unseated from their mounts.

Gordon was aboard Get A Pepsi, while Chatrie rode Miss MoneyPenny. Both riders were quickly attended to by trackside medical personnel before being transferred to hospital for further evaluation.

This website can now report that as of Tuesday night, April 7, both jockeys remained under observation in hospital. Fortunately, neither sustained broken bones, though both reported soreness from the fall.

Chatrie, described as eager to be discharged, is expected to make a quicker return. Gordon, however, suffered a concussion and has been directed to remain in hospital for at least another 24 hours for additional examinations to ensure his recovery is properly monitored.
