The Kevin Burnside Trophy, named in honour of one of the Park’s raceday announcers, is the ninth race on Saturday’s ten-race programme, October 31, 2026.
The contest is for locally bred three-year-olds and imported three-year-old maidens.
Twelve horses are entered for the 7½-furlong event.
The Quick Galloper assesses the field and previews the likely outcome.
1 – BRODY’S UNITY (USA)
Bay colt (February 15) by Brody’s Cause out of Bagatelle
Trainer – Colin Elcock
Jockey – Shane Richardson
In ten starts, this import has shown little to recommend him. A significant turnaround looks unlikely.
2 – TOM DULY
Chestnut colt (February 15) by Hedge Fund out of Glorious Cause
Trainer – Rowan Mathie
Jockey – Emelio McLean
Tom Duly arrives after a recent upset win down the five-furlong chute, but was well beaten on his first try in non-two company. He can only be considered an outsider.
3 – INFINITY STAR (USA)
Bay filly (February 13) by Greenpointcrusader out of Batmitzvah
Trainer – Winchester McIntosh
Jockey – Raddesh Roman
Equipment Change – Visor off, tongue-tie and figure eight on
Nothing in her ten starts suggests that a win is within reach, even with the equipment changes.
4 – GOD’S PLAN
Chestnut filly (May 5) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Fearless Abi
Trainer – Gary Subratie
Jockey – Tevin Foster
Equipment Change – Figure eight on
God’s Plan has placed second twice and third once in her last three starts in non-two company. Well suited by the 7½-furlong distance, she looks a leading contender and will be hard to deny.
5 – SHE’S IDEAL
Bay filly (May 14) by Sensational Slam out of Winesha
Trainer – Robert Pearson
Jockey – Tajay Suckoo
She’s Ideal steps into this category for the first time, just 14 days after recording her first win. How she handles the rise in class will be worth watching.
6 – NATIVE ISLE
Brown colt (April 3) by Successful Native out of Mary’s Gold
Trainer – Phillip Lee
Jockey – Eric Haughton
Native Isle has shown enough to merit consideration.
7 – WALL TO WALL
Bay colt (February 24) by Savoy Stomp out of Lady Shankari
Trainer – Carl Anderson
Jockey – Chalrick Budhai
Equipment Change – Tongue-tie off, figure eight on
Wall To Wall has yet to race beyond 6½ furlongs in nine starts, but has finished fourth in each of his last three outings. The extra distance is a question, though he remains an appealing prospect for exotic wagers.
8 – RED THIRTYTWO
Bay colt (March 9) by Hedge Fund out of Roses For Elle
Trainer – Gary Griffiths
Jockey – Shaheem Gordon
Red ThirtyTwo brings the experience of 14 starts, including eight consecutive appearances in this grade. He has finished in the top four six times during that stretch and deserves respect.
9 – CHEDWRICK HUMOR
Chestnut colt (April 21) by Verve’s Hunor out of Grey Empress
Trainer – Fitzgerald Richards
Jockey – Dane Dawkins
Equipment Change – Cheek pieces on
Chedwrick Humor is progressing well. In his only start in this category, he finished just a length behind Abudar and Minniehaha over nine furlongs and 25 yards, staying on strongly. He is well suited to this trip. He is going to be a deciding factor.
10 – MINNIEHAHA
Bay filly (February 23) by Savoy Stomp out of Red Gold
Trainer – Robert Pearson
Jockey – Omar Walker
Equipment Change – Figure eight off
A highly consistent filly, Minniehaha has finished second in her last three outings. She performs well over longer trips, making 7½ furlongs close to ideal. She likes to lead and, given her current form, will have to be caught, yet she can race behind the pacesetters and strike when ready.
11 – GULFSTREAM CAT
Bay filly (April 3) by Savoy Stomp out of Burning Clearance
Trainer – Carl Anderson
Jockey – Roger Hewitt
Equipment Change – Figure eight on
Gulfstream Cat appreciates a distance of ground and should do her best work in the straight. She looks capable of earning another top-four finish.
12 – CROWN COURT
Bay colt (April 2) by Conquest Cherimash out of Black Bombshell
Trainer – Gary Subratie
Jockey – Phillip Parchment
Crown Court needs more time to develop in this class.
