KINGSTON, Jamaica - The Quick Galloper presents readers with facts and figures for the second installment of the 2023 Mouttet Mile.

The 2023 Mouttet Mile, featuring a maximum field of sixteen, will take place on Saturday, December 2.

1 - Five US-bred horses and one Canadian-bred horse are participating in the Mouttet Mile. The US-bred horses include I Am Fred, Easy As A.B.C, Is That A Fact, Runaway Algo, and Rough Entry, while the Canadian-bred is American Tap.

2 – Four fillies or mares will participate in the 2023 Mouttet Mile: She’s My Destiny (mare), Mamma Mia, Atomica, and American Tap (mare).

3 – Five Classic race winners are competing in the Mouttet Mile: Blue Vinyl (2000 Guineas and St Leger), Mamma Mia (1000 Guineas and Jamaica Oaks), Mojito (2000 Guineas), Atomica (1000 Guineas and Jamaica Derby), and Ability (Jamaica Derby).

4 - Six three-year-olds will participate in the 2023 Mouttet Mile: Mamma Mia, Is That A Fact, Mojito, Money Miser, Easy As A.B.C, and Ability.

5 – Mahogany holds the most career wins of the 16 horses in the Mouttet Mile series. Trained by Ian Parsard, Mahogany has raced 29 times and recorded victories on 17 occasions.

6 – The leading sire for the 2023 Mouttet Mile is Bern Identity from Paradise at Spring Village Farm. Bern Identity has produced notable horses like She’s Destiny (Woman Is Boss), Blue Vinyl (Blufield), and Perfect Brew (Moonlight Brew).

7 – Duke, a seven-year-old gray horse who finished second at long odds in the first Mouttet Mile in 2022, is the oldest horse racing in the 2023 Mouttet Mile.

8 – Notably, all connections of the first Mouttet Mile winner, Excessive Force will be absent from this year's event.
