KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Dane Nelson who has not ridden a winner over the last three race days, broke that spell moments ago when he piloted the Rowan Mathie trained Lady Rattapur to be in front at the finish line.
Lady Rattapur was successful in a Maiden Condition call for four-year-olds and upwards travelling seven furlongs which was the fourth race on today’s (Sunday, October 4) offering.
Nelson did not have much to do as Lady Rattapur surged to the front shortly after leaving her starting stall and was never in danger of defeat winning by a long six lengths.
Black Royalty finished second with Dream of Mine third.
With the win on Lady Rattapur, Nelson is now nine behind Anthony Thomas in the jockeys' standings.
