KINGSTON, Jamaica – Four kilogramme claiming apprentice Mario Chung ended his long drought of winners when he guided the Winchester McIntosh trained Papa Albert to take the first race on the Caymanas Sunday (June 19) programme.
The Caymanas Sunday first was a five-year-old Optional Claimer ($180,000 - $150,000) going 3 1/2 furlongs.
Papa Albert was not the best away when the gates opened, with Chung immediately pushing his mount towards the stand rails.
When the duo reached their intended location, Papa Albert went ahead to win by 3 ¾ lengths with no challengers in sight. Highly Bless (Ruja Lahoe) finished second with Freedom For Eds (Matthew Bennett) in third place.
For Chung it was his first win in 2022 from 13 rides.
