Apprentice jockey Jereau Stewart marked a significant milestone in his budding career with victory aboard Briscoe in the third race at Caymanas Park on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

The Andre Adams-trained five-year-old chestnut gelding delivered a dominant performance in the maiden condition race for native-bred five-year-olds and upward, contested over five furlongs on the round course.

Breaking sharply from the gate, Briscoe immediately seized control of the race, setting a brisk early tempo ahead of Blinding Light (Rotajmar Weir) and Empressinthebreeze (Paul Francis). Stewart kept the momentum rolling as they approached the half-mile turn, with Briscoe widening his lead with every stride.

By the time the field straightened for home, Briscoe was well clear, and Stewart gave the signal for one final push. The gelding went further ahead to score by 12 lengths. He stopped the clock at 1:04.1, comfortably ahead of runner-up Empressinthebreeze and third-place finisher Blinding Light.

The win not only marked Stewart’s first as a licensed rider but also gave Adams his first success of the season, an encouraging sign for both horseman and jockey as the campaign unfolds.
