KINGSTON, Jamaica – The productive last four days for apprentice Reyan Lewis continued apace moments ago when he gave a dogged performance on Alexa’s Star to take the eighth race at Caymanas Park.
Alexa’s Star trained by Patrick Lynch won a Maiden Condition event for four-year-olds and up over 6 ½ furlongs.
Lewis now lies second in the jockeys’ race jointly with former champion, Omar Walker on 27 winners each. Lewis and Walker are cousins. The leader is Chris Mamdeen with 31 winners.
Second behind Alexa’s Star was Secret Law with Stormy Lady third.
Alexa’s Star won at odds of 7-2.
