KINGSTON, Jamaica - The two on fire jockeys at the moment, Dane Dawkins and Tevin Foster met each other in fierce battle and when the dust settled it was the latter who got home by a nose on the Ryan Darby trained Slam in the Caymanas Sunday eighth.
Slam racing under the care of Darby for the first occasion won a three-year-old maiden special weight call going 8 ½ furlongs.
When the 12 participants were sent on their way it was Rum Puncher (Dane Dawkins) and Never On A Sunday (Shane Richardson) who vied for the lead with Get A Pepsi (Shane Ellis) not far away. At this stage, Foster had Slam in mid-pack but way from the leading duo.
When the horses turned for home, Rum Puncher quickly got rid of Never On A Sunday and Get A Pepsi  Slam entered the turn in fourth place and when Foster switched him to the inside, he started to surge, and then in a ding-dong battle, it was Slam by a nose over Rum Puncher with Get A Pepsi third.
