KINGSTON, Jamaica – Drawn at number two in a field of seven travelling four furlongs straight, Golden Destiny under the guidance of apprentice Oshane Nugent was quick to tack across to the preferred inside rails while still able to maintain the lead.
Trained by Ryan Darby trainee, Golden Destiny was triumphant in a Restricted Stakes for five-year-olds and upwards at odds of 8-1.
Although shortening a bit in the final half-a-furlong, Nugent and Golden Destiny had enough in the tank to win by less than a length over Lightning McQueen (Orlando Foster) and Miss Elaine (Dane Nelson).
In the two races run thus far on the 10-race card, no favourites have obliged.
Lightning McQueen at 2-1 was the favourite in this race.
