Foreigner Gallant Groom Poised For First Local Success

QUICK GALLOPER 4

The seventh of ten races on Saturday, August 29, 2026, is for three and four-year-olds non-winners of four races lifetime.

Six horses are entered travelling a distance of 6 ½ furlongs.

The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the possible outcome is shared below in draw order.

1 – GALLANT GROOM (USA)

Four-year-old brown colt by Golden Lad out of D D Renegade

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Tevin Foster

Equipment – Lasix

Delivered an eye-catching local debut, closing strongly to secure second over five furlongs round while gaining significant ground in the stretch. Having faced Overnight Allowance company first time out, Gallant Groom now steps down to non-winners of four against more manageable opposition over a distance that suits his style.

2 – UNBELIEVABLE POWER (USA)

Three-year-old chestnut filly (April 6) by Accelerate out of Fastest Spin

Trainer – Adrian Prince

Jockey – Tyrese Anderson

Equipment – Visor and Lasix

Broke her maiden at last on August 6 after nine tries. Facing tougher competition in non-four will be a steep task, and she likely requires more time to adjust to this level.

3 – FIDELITY

Three-year-old bay gelding (March 28) by Bern Identity out of Hush My Darling

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Calvin Bailey

Equipment – Figure 8 and Lasix

Continues to produce patchy form and appears out of his depth against this field.

4 – THE LIVITICUS

Four-year-old chestnut filly by Here Comes Ben out of Special Report

Trainer – Robert Pearson

Jockey – Shaheem Gordon

Equipment – Lasix

Has struggled to make an impact in non-four company since earning a third career victory on May 25. However, as one of only two with three wins in the field, she merits serious consideration for exotic combinations.

5 – COMUNA TRECE (USA)

Three-year-old bay colt (May 28) by Maximum Security out of My Anguilla

Trainer – Oral Hayden

Jockey – Bebeto Harvey

Equipment Change – Visor on

Has failed to make noise following a shock 39-1 triumph on July 4. Connections add a visor today in hopes of sparking a revitalized performance.

6 – MIDNIGHT TRAVELLER

Three-year-old chestnut filly (February 13) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Esperanza

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Carlos Blake

Equipment – Lasix

Holding a solitary win from 17 career outings, Midnight Traveller looks up against it in this class.
