First 3-Year-Old Non-Two A Riddle

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The seventh race on Saturday, September 16, 2023, is division one of three-year-old non-winners of two for locally bred horses, and a maiden for three-year-old foreigners at six furlongs.

This event, run in honour of Flossie McNeil, and is also restricted to fillies.

Ten are entered with The Quick Galloper’s assessment is provided below in draw order.

1 – WAYNE’S PRINCESS is a bay filly (May 19) by Northern Giant out of Patara, trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis aboard. Slowly find her way in this grouping. The distance is to her liking, with a placing on the board awaiting.

2 – GOLDEN SYRUP is a grey filly (May 18) by Lion Tamer out of Sweet Sugar, trained by Anthony Nunes with Youville Pinnock in the saddle. This filly has race three times, all over the straight. The Quick Galloper prefers to wait and see how Golden Syrup.

3 – SHE’S A MIRAGE is a bay filly (March 29) by Casual Trick out Full Moon’s Enough, trained by Jason DaCosta with Ramon Nepare aboard. Has no realistic chance of winning this one.

4 – PIGGLIE WIGGLE is a bay filly (April 2) by Conquest Cherimash out of Save More, trained by Patrick Fong with Samantha Fletcher in the saddle. Note, Pigglie Wigglie races with the blinkers off. Can be discarded from consideration. 

5 – THE LOVE OF GOD is a chestnut filly (February 22) by Lion Tamer out of The Principal, trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Javaniel Patterson aboard. Learning how to cope with non-two, will get there with time.

6 – SAVVY GIRL is a bay filly (April 9) by Savoy Stomp out of Runallday, trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Getting there.

7 – BELLA SOUL is a bay filly (January 19) by Soul Warrior out of Lady Belridge, trained Gary Subratie with Dane Dawkins in the saddle. Enters non-winners of two for the first occasion. Will have to adapt before thinking of winning.

8 – EPIC is a bay filly (March 21) by Casual Trick out of Global, trained by Edward Stanberry with Roger Hewitt aboard. Note, Epic races with the figure eight on. Has not progressed as anticipated after opening her career with a win on April 22.

9 – NATURAL DANCER is a bay filly (March 15) by Natural Selection out of Gold Star Dancer, trainer by Robert Pearson with Jordan Barrett in the saddle. Trying her best which won’t be enough in this one.

10 – MAY SELLINGTON is a bay filly (March 26) by Natural Selection out of Lucious, trained by Ryan Darby with Matthew Bennett aboard. Notched her first tick in the win column just 14 days ago after nine starts. May Sellington will find it difficult against more seasoned opponents.
