Fearless Attack, a three-year-old bay colt owned by Robert Thomas and trained by Jason DaCosta, has made a successful entry to the Road to the Triple Crown with a win on his debut race on Saturday, March 9, 2024.

The offspring of Fearless Vision and the mare Midnight Hawk, Fearless Attack claimed victory by a significant 14-length margin in the $1.05 million race for native three-year-olds over a distance of 5 furlongs straight, finishing in a time of 1:02.1.

The colt, under the guidance of jockey Robert Halledeen, started well and quickly took a commanding position with rivals Bold Shadow, Battle Angel, and Indestructible challenging early on.

Fearless Attack gained the lead before the dummy rails and held it to the finish line. Midnight Galaxy secured second place, with a two-length lead over Bold Shadow in third.

Jason DaCosta spoke about Fearless Attack's race approach, saying, "The performance was very professional. He was relaxed in the early part of the race, and when the jockey asked him to run, he quickened up in a short space of time.”

DaCosta expressed hope for the colt's continued health and ability to handle longer races, adding, "Let's keep our fingers crossed that he stays sound and healthy, and hopefully when we stretch him out, he will take the distance and hopefully be a classic horse. His run showed that he might get a distance of ground because he was well relaxed."
