KINGSTON, Jamaica – Double Diva improved her racing record to four wins from five starts when she pounded rivals in the Saturday, May 28, 2022, nightcap, which was an Overnight Allowance call for three-year-old and upwards horses going seven furlongs.`
Drawn at post-position one in a field of 14 after the withdrawal of One Don, Double Diva was hustled to the lead by her jockey Anthony Thomas. The American bred four-year-old chestnut filly was followed by Eroy (Bebeto Harvey) and The Good Witch (Dick Cardenas).
This order remained down the backstretch, and around the turn, with Double Diva trained by Jason DaCosta, holding a slim lead when they entered the straight. Then Eroy, who was returning from a long absence came forward with a challenge but was quickly repelled by Double Diva. With Thomas getting busy, Double Diva started to extend her advantage, going on to win by five lengths.
Money Monster (Reyan Lewis) put in an unexpected good effort at 20-1 to finish second with Eroy third.
Double Diva was the second winner on the day for Thomas.
