KINGSTON, Jamaica – Returning from a break of 103 days following an injury, Danny Spud rekindled hope for his connections with an easy win in the Caymanas Saturday second.

Danny Spud trained by Vincent Atkinson with Javaniel Patterson in the irons was victorious in a four-year-old and upwards (non-winners of two) call at five furlongs round.

It was the speedy Jon P (Chris Mamdeen) who set the early splits followed closely by Jolly’s Dream (Omar Walker) and Danny Spud on the rails.

Jon P and Mamdeen tried to slip rivals rounding the final part of the bend to enter the stretch drive with the advantage. Patterson then got to work on the 3-5 on Danny Spud who responded by kicking off to score by 4 ½ lengths.

Jon P held for second with Jolly’s Dream third.
