KINGSTON, Jamaica – In-form jockey Dane Nelson had to wait until the penultimate eighth race on the mid-week card at Caymanas Park to notch his first winner.
Nelson on board the Robert Pearson trained Purple Wayne in a Restricted Allowance 11 contest for horses who have not won two races.
Purple Wayne was slowly out of the box when the starter pressed the button but Nelson was unperturbed as he did not rush his mount choosing instead to bide his time.
In the straight, Nelson went wide and blew by all rivals without any fuss.
