KINGSTON, Jamaica – Starting at prohibitive odds of 1-9, Daddy Jones justified that resounding favouritism by romping the Caymanas Saturday seventh by an expanding 8 1/2 lengths.

Daddy Jones, a three-year-old grey colt by American Dance – Mete-Orite trained by Richard Azan and ridden by Omar Walker, raced on the outside as a merry pace was set by Oldkingcole (Dane Neslon).

Daddy Jones, a half brother to top class campaigner Mahogany, started his main winning effort at the top of the lane when he went alongside Oldkingcole. Then following a brief tussle between the two, Daddy Jones pulled away to record his first win.

Curlin’s Kawartha (Chris Mamdeen) ran to nip Oldkingcole for second.
