KINGSTON, Jamaica – After losing in the glass just a week ago to his brother Tevin on Wartime, Orlando Foster stepped up on Cryptocurrency at searing odds of 24-1 to win the ninth at Caymanas Park.
The event won by Cryptocurrency was an Overnight Allowance call travelling 6 ½ furlongs.
Orlando Foster watched in third as Jamai Raja (Chris Mamdeen) set off in front followed by Peking Cruz (Dane Dawkins).
Racing with the rain pouring down in lumps, which made visibility difficult even for punters watching on television monitors, Orlando Foster cut the corner to take-up position on the inside rails, as Jamai Raja and Peking Cruz were still battling for supremacy.
Peking Cruz took over with a furlong and a half left in the contest but a waiting Orlando Foster rallied Cryptocurrency to gain the lead shortly after and then went on to win by nearly two lengths.
Uncle Frank (Anthony Thomas) ran on strongly to snatch the runner-up slot while Peking Cruz held for third.
The 1-5 favourite Master of Hall (Dane Nelson) ran no race at all finishing fifth.
