KINGSTON, Jamaica – Corazon racing in the claiming ranks for the first time made it look easy as she dispatched nine rivals to win the second race a short while ago at Caymanas Park.
Stepping down from the Overnight Allowance grade to claiming, Corazon ridden by Dick Cardenas and trained by champion Anthony Nunes was held off the pace on the inside rails.
On the front end it was Soul Cure (Reyan Lewis) and Top Shelf (Javaniel Patterson), who set the fractions in this contest run over five furlongs round.
In the stretch drive, Cardenas had to switch Corazon from off the rails as Soul Cure occupied that spot.
Once that manoeuvre was completed, Corazon went on to win by 2 ¼ lengths in a time of 59.3.
Bimini (Dane Nelson) finished second with Mr Universe third.
