KINGSTON, Jamaica – Racing with the visor on and blinkers off, Commissioner after a slow start to his career is now two from two after emerging victorious in the Caymanas Monday third.
Commissioner was successful in a four-year-old and upwards (non-winners of two) event racing four furlongs.
The 3-5 favourite Adoration (Oneil Mullings) pitched badly at the start and lost his chances of winning from there.
Commissioner on the other hand was quickly out of his starting stall with his rider Dane Nelson deciding to race in mid-track.
Galloping resolutely, Commissioner trained by Rohan Mathie, still had to dig deep as Adoration and Mullings made a bid in the final furlong but it was a little too late.
Commissioner won by three-parts of a length over Adoration with Miss AJC third.
