KINGSTON, Jamaica – The final figures have not been tabulated as yet but early indications are that the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association Yearling Sale at Caymanas Park was a great success.
Despite only 114 lots on offer, after which 11 were withdrawn leaving 103, it is understood that a possible record could be set on the total sales amount.
BELOW ARE SOME OF THE MAJOR BUYS AT THE SALE
Lot #45 – a chestnut filly by Blue Pepsi Lodge – Rumble sold for $5.1 million. This is Rumble’s first registered foal. She is from the Bigdaddykool line with the second dam Beware Baby the mother of Bigdaddykool, Taranis, and Khaleesi’s Revenge.
LOT #44 – a chestnut filly by Nuclear Wayne – Commandra Affair was listed as being sold for $5.0 million. The filly is a full sister to 1000 Guineas winner Nuclear Affair.
LOT #36 – a chestnut filly by new stallion Sensational Slam – Bubbling Angeline was taken for $4.4 million in the sales ring. This is Bubbling Angeline’s first registered foal.
LOT #38 – a chestnut filly by Blue Pepsi Lodge -Herroyalhighness sold for $4.5 million. Herroyalhighness is the dam of Lightning McQueen.
LOT #27 – a bay colt by Casual Trick – Sarah Barracuda sold for $4.00 million. Sarah Barracuda is also the dam of Sarah Lee.
LOT #72 – a bay filly by Adore The Gold – Lipstick Lady sold for $3.3 million. Lipstick Lady is the dam of a yet unraced two-year-old by Soul Warrior.
