KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Christopher Mamdeen signalled a return to winning ways when he piloted Heir of Fire to victory in the Caymanas Saturday sixth.

Heir of Fire was able to get home in front in a three-year-old and upwards Optional Claimer ($550,000 - $500,000) racing down the five straight course.

Heir of Fire trained by Michael Marlowe stayed with the leaders in the early pickings with the race then turning out to be a three-way tussle  involving Heir of Fire, Special Counsel (Dick Cardenas) and Stanislaus (Dane Nelson) when the horses crossed over onto the main track.

In a scrape to the line, Heir of Fire prevailed over Special Counsel by half a length with Just An Illusion running on for third.
