The second race on the nine-race card for Saturday, January 3, 2026, is restricted to locally bred three- and four-year-olds who have not won four races, and imported three-year-olds and up who have not won three races. Six horses are entered to compete over 5 ½ furlongs. The Quick Galloper’s assessment of each runner is provided in draw order.

1 – PHENOMENAL POWER

Phenomenal Power is a dark bay colt (USA, March 7) by Violence out of Drinking Dixie, trained by Anthony Nunes with Delroy Beharie aboard. This imported runner electrified the track on December 13, 2025, when he debuted over 5 ½ furlongs, dismantling rivals by 14 lengths. Then he defeated another foreigner, Prodigious Power, who later returned to conquer the previously unbeaten Sir Don. Phenomenal Power is expected to dominate once again as the odds-on favourite.

2 – AMAZING FORCE

Amazing Force is a five-year-old bay horse (USA) by Leofric out of White Wedding Day, trained by Anthony Nunes with Joy Haynes in the saddle. His last victory came in February 2025. A consistent performer at this level, Amazing Force is reliable but unlikely to match strides with the top contenders here.

3 – NUCLEAR JET

Nuclear Jet is a four-year-old chestnut colt by Bern Identity out of Nuclear Jet, trained by Byron Davis with Dane Dawkins riding. He has shown steady improvement, most notably winning on November 16, 2025, when he defeated Danka and Fred The Master. While competitive, a top-three finish appears his best chance in this field.

4 – MISS MONEYPENNY

Miss MoneyPenny is a four-year-old chestnut filly by Bern Identity out of Pomeroy’s Secret, trained by Jason DaCosta with Tevin Foster aboard. Her form has been inconsistent since reaching this grade. Known for her early speed, she will face a stern test against the imported runners. An exacta placing is her most realistic target.

5 – NEBUCHADNEZZAR

Nebuchadnezzar is a four-year-old chestnut colt by Soul Warrior out of Queen of Bagdad, trained by Anthony Nunes with Tajay Suckoo holding the reins. Entered primarily to support his stablemate, Nebuchadnezzar is unlikely to feature prominently.

6 – PAPI USO

Papi Uso is a four-year-old bay colt by Casual Trick out of Runallday, trained by Anthony Nunes with Romane Gordon riding. Similar to Nebuchadnezzar, Papi Uso serves as a stable filler and is not expected to contend.

The Galloper’s Verdict

Phenomenal Power towers over this field and should secure another commanding victory. Nuclear Jet and Miss MoneyPenny are the most likely to chase him home, while Amazing Force may round out the minor placings. The rest appears outclassed.
