KINGSTON, Jamaica – Racing for the second time for trainer Gary Subratie on this occasion with the tongue tie on and with first time Lasix administered, Golden Blood produced a preserving effort to win the Caymanas Saturday third at 1-5 on.

Golden Blood ridden by Dane Dawkins won a three-year-old maiden contest going a mile.

Although expected to be an easy winner, Golden Blood had to fight hard after tracking Mine That Cat (Youville Pinnock) for most of the way.

Mine That Cat led with Golden Blood following. Dawkins did not push Golden Blood and when the leader turned for home, he moved quickly to take advantage of the open inside rail position.

Mine That Cat was not giving up as Blood Song kept plugging away until with a furlong to go the former started to falter and that was when Blood Song went on for his first win by 2 ¾ lengths.

Second was Mine That Cat with Ring Charmer (Roger Hewitt) third.
