Three-Year-Old Maidens – Seven Furlongs

REGGAE 6 MILLIONAIRE MAKER Field: 11 starters

The Reggae 6 Millionaire Maker, a seven-furlong contest for three-year-old maidens, has drawn a competitive field of 11.

Below is The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the contenders.

NUMBER ONE – NEWSPAPEROFRECORD

A habitual slow starter across nine career outings, Newspaperofrecord has shown flashes of late-running ability. With blinkers applied, he could sharpen early and deliver a more assertive stretch run. Needs pace up front to be effective.

NUMBER TWO – KUMSI

Twelve starts have yielded just one second-place finish, but Kumsi continues to show effort. While a win seems elusive, she remains a candidate for inclusion in the trifecta or superfecta, especially if others falter.

NUMBER THREE – PAPI USO

A seasoned campaigner with 15 starts, Papi Uso has managed to hit the board on occasion. His connections may be targeting a minor placing, with top-six earnings likely the realistic goal.

NUMBER FOUR – GOOD CONSCIENCE

Lightly raced and improving, Good Conscience was narrowly beaten by He’s Sensational over 7½ furlongs. Seven furlongs appears ideal for his running style. Now topping the handicaps, but that should not hinder his chances. A live threat.

NUMBER FIVE – SKILL AT ARMS

Six starts have offered little encouragement. Based on current form, Skill At Arms is unlikely to factor meaningfully in this line-up.

NUMBER SIX – LAUREN’S SECRET

Debuted on September 27 with a modest showing. Returns with first-time Lasix, which may aid performance, but still has much to prove against more seasoned rivals.

NUMBER SEVEN – LAURIE

Still in the early stages of her development. Laurie is gaining experience but remains a work in progress. Improvement needed to contend.

NUMBER EIGHT – PRINCE OGILVEY

Another who is gradually piecing things together. Prince Ogilvey removes blinkers this time, suggesting a tactical shift. Still appears to be in the learning phase.

NUMBER NINE – SMOKING THOM

One start in the books, and it revealed a lack of readiness. Equipment changes, tongue tie on, figure eight off—may help, but he remains a longshot.

NUMBER TEN – RUSH OF CLASS

Scratched at the gates last week, but his prior two starts yielded a third and a second. That progression hints at genuine ability. Blinkers go on, and he must be respected as a serious contender.

NUMBER ELEVEN – MODERN MONARCH

One of the most experienced runners in the field with 15 starts. Has hit the board in his last three and was closing fast at 5½ furlongs behind Big La. The added distance should suit him well. A major player.

THE QUICK GALLOPER’S VERDICT

Modern Monarch and Rush of Class stand out as the most likely to deliver a winning performance, with Good Conscience close behind. Newspaperofrecord could surprise if he breaks alertly, while Kumsi and Papi Uso are best considered for minor placings. The rest appear to be in developmental mode, with limited upside for Saturday’s feature.
