The tenth and final race on Saturday, July 11, 2026 is being contested in honour of Don Wehby Senior. The Don Wehby Memorial Trophy is for three-year-old and up horses at the Overnight Allowance level coming down the five-furlong chute.
Below, The Quick Galloper evaluates each of the 13 entered to contest this trophy event.
1 - TAPIT GOOD
Utterly outclassed in this lineup. His presence here is baffling, and he can be totally ignored as a factor in the outcome.
2 - MISS MONEYPENNY
Possesses good speed and loves to play catch-me-if-you-can. She will undoubtedly spearhead the charge from the opening stride and try to steal it. Yet consideration ha s to be given to being drawn on the inside over the straight.
3 - ALLEGIANCE
Showed plenty of grit to finish second behind Boss Man over a much longer seven furlongs on June 28. This hyper-sprint tests his limits, but his closing power makes him a threat at the wire, but he has to be at his A game coming from post-position three.
4 - BROMPTON BOY
Faces an overwhelming talent deficit against this crew and will likely trail the field into submission.
5 - MY SUNSHINE
His recent form lines offer absolutely zero encouragement. An easy toss from any ticket.
6 - BOB THE BUILDER
Barring a total traffic jam ahead of him, he is playing for scraps. Only a fringe piece of the exotics is within his reach.
7 - COOKIE DAY NIGHT
An unpredictable sort who is capable of anything at anytime. He periodically pops up with a monster effort and has the tools to blow up the tote board.
8 - JOHNCROWJEFF
The winner's circle is a pipe dream based on his current form, but this old warrior can rely on his vast experience to sneak into a minor prize slot if the favourites misfire.
9 - I DREAM AGAIN
The undisputed heavyweight of this event. He finds a massive relief in company after chasing home the brilliant Linguist over this very straight track on May 16. Anything less than a victory would be a shock.
10 - GALLOP DE VELOZ
A hard-knocking, reliable campaigner who rarely runs a bad race but simply lacks the killer instinct to win. Bank on him to hit the board.
11 - HUNTSMAN
A steady operator who can be counted on for an honest run, making him a very logical inclusion to fill out the lower tiers of your exotic plays.
12 - DREAM TO REALITY
The harsh truth is that she is entirely out of her depth, and her chances will vanish the moment the gates open.
13 - AWESOMEANTHONY
Devoid of the necessary form or speed figures to make even a minor ripple against these rivals.
