KINGSTON, Jamaica – Even after suffering interference going around the half-mile bend, a full charged Action Ann stormed up the straight to nab Secret Identity (Linton Steadman) in the glass to win the 2021 edition of the Hot Line Stakes which was the Caymanas Saturday ninth.
Trained by Chris ‘Superman’ Pearson and ridden by jockey Omar Walker, Action Ann could not go with the leaders Sure Curlin (Robert Halledeen) and Three Times Lucky (Anthony Thomas), with Secret Identity (Linton Steadman) following closely.
In the stretch drive, Walker had to go through horses while Secret Identity was not in a giving up mood. She fought gallantly as Action Ann by Sensational Slam – Lady Like turned it on to pip Secret Identity by a neck. Third went to Sure Curlin.
This was Walker’s second winner on the day, and his third in succession in the Hot Line following wins in 2019 on Lady Blue and England’s Rose last year.
