KINGSTON, Jamaica – Gambler with a strong final push covered all to take the Caymanas Saturday eighth, which was a four-year-old and up (non-winners of three) call going seven furlongs.
Like a runaway train Crafty and Ready (Samantha Fletcher) set off in front setting splits of 24.0 x 47.2. At this stage Dane Dawkins on the Michael Marlowe trained Gambler was picking off horses on the outside but still many lengths behind the leader.
Crafty and Ready entered the lane about four lengths ahead of the rest with Dawkins now playing his card on Gambler on the outside. Crafty and Ready started to fade as Gambler came churning home for the win by 3 ½ lengths.
Crafty and Ready was second and Kay Boy (Roger Hewitt) third.
