KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Shane Ellis had to pull on his vast experience to bring home Akeem The Dream for trainer Edward Stanberry in the fourth contest as the Caymanas Park Saturday (August 15) card continued.
Akeem The Dream was always with the front bunch but Ellis allowed the 1-5 favourite Sweet Toppins (Anthony Thomas) to lead unmolested until four furlongs were left in the one mile offering for three-year-olds only.
It was then that Ellis put Akeem The Dream in front and although challenged by Big Big Daddy (Robert Halledeen), Akeem The Dream was able to hold his gallop to the winning post.
Third was Sweet Toppins.
