KINGSTON, Jamaica – Three Jamaican bred horses came home as winners on the 7-race card at the Santa Rosa race track in Arima, Trinidad and Tobago yesterday (November 17, 2018).
The programme started with Samurai, a three-year-old chestnut colt winning the first race over six furlongs in a time of 1:16.1. The event was for West Indian bred three-year-olds and over maidens.
Samurai (Adore The Gold – Yield To Faith) was bred by Ian Parsard and is trained by Glen Mendez.
The next Jamaican winner came in race 4, when Divine Inspiration, a 4-year-old bay colt by He’stherealthing – Jose Marsan won over 5 ½ furlongs in a time of 1:06.4. Divine Inspiration is trained by Doug Bennett. The race was for 2-year-olds and over horses rated 60-45.
The final success on the day for Jamaican bred horses came in the night cap when Dancin Deputy a three-year-old chestnut filly by Deputy Glitters – Grand Cabaret obliged in a two-year-old and over horses rated 45-30 event going 6 ½ furlongs.
Dancin Deputy who was bred by Argyll Farms Limited won in a time of 1:21.1 and is trained by John O’Brien.
