The eighth race on Saturday, April 4, 2026, is restricted to locally bred three-year-olds and upward who are non-winners of four races, and for imported horses, three-year-olds and upward who are non-winners of three.

Six runners will face the starter over five furlongs straight.

Below is The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the likely outcome.

 1 – FEELING FIRE

Trainer – Peter-John Parsard

Jockey – Dane Dawkins

Captured his third victory from eight starts just seven days ago down the straight. While still settling into new surroundings, Feeling Fire is fit and sharp. Must be taken seriously.

2 – DANKA

Trainer – Richard Azan

Jockey – Tajay Suckoo

Crossed the line first on February 18 but was disqualified. Proven over the straight course and capable of beating rivals at this level. A genuine contender.

3 – STARRAURA

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Aaron Chatrie

Still finding her footing in this company. Needs more time to develop before threatening.

4 – PRINCE ROY

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Clive Lynch

Form has dipped in recent outings, and he has not raced down the straight in quite some time.

5 – RALPHS TREASURE

Trainer – Gary Subratie

Jockey – Shane Richardson

Consistent performer since entering this class, though untested over the straight. Will give an honest effort and cannot be overlooked.

6 – RICORICORICO (USA)

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Shaheem Gordon

Returns to the chute after scoring over the course on January 1, 2026. Ricoricorico alternates between strong and modest efforts, but connections will hope this is one of his better days.
